Is Schoolio The Right Choice?

With the COVID-19 situation not resolving, many parents have had to make some difficult decisions. They have had to decide whether of not to place their children back in the public school system or to do remote learning at home through the school board. For a lot of parents, having their kids back in school is essential due to their work schedules. But for some the ability to take advantage of the remote learning seems doable. However, I’ve been hearing so many complaints about the ‘remote’ learning. I’ve heard complaints about how it’s not organized, how they keep changing the dates for starting, how they give an ultimatum of ‘If you don’t place your child back in on this date you have to wait 5 months.’ Which stresses parents out.

So what can you do in this situation? If you have the capability to stay home with your children, and you want them to get the best education possible, yet you’re finding that the remote learning aspect of public school is horribly neglected. What alternatives could you try?

Schoolio, 100%. Now I get it, you may be thinking ‘Well you’re just saying that because you are part of the Schoolio team.’ Alternatively, I have some experience in this homeschool gig. I’ve been homeschooling for 4.5 years now. On our homeschool journey I’ve used many different curriculums yet, I’ve never come across a curriculum as thorough as Schoolio. What are some ways that Schoolio is superior to most home school curriculums and also the remote learning programs that are currently being provided?

Schoolio’s curriculum is written right here in Ontario by Teachers and educational professionals. Our curriculum follows the Ontario Curriculum, while giving you access to teachers who care about your child’s needs. You obviously want to make sure your child is right on track with their education need. With Schoolio, you don’t have to worry because there is no better platform to reach that with.

Maybe you’re a little freaked out by the idea of teaching your child without the help of the public school system. Fair enough, that’s a pretty big leap of faith, but it’s a leap that you’re going to want to take. You aren’t alone in this homeschooling gig. There are many home school curriculums that you could order that will show up at your door but leave you feeling completely restless and alone, trying to figure out how to teach this to your child. Not Schoolio, when you sign up you recieve a 1hour complimentary consult with one of our registered teachers. You also will join a community of other home school parents just like you. We are always here to help, if you have a worry, a concern, or something you just can’t figure out, Schoolio is here to answer your questions.

Whatever grade your child should be starting in, our Ontario based curriculum will give your child exactly what they need to reach the expectations of the public school system. It’s not like you order the curriculum and then are left in the dark trying to figure out how to teach, we are here to guide you through this. Every lesson is crafted with you in mind. Because let’s face it, homeschool wouldn’t be possible without the parent.

We care not only about your child’s education but about you and your journey as well. There’s this stereotypical side to homeschooling, leading many to believe that it is an isolating quest. That they will be alone in the process of trying to teach their children, that they won’t be able to get through the year alone. There’s this common misunderstanding that homeschool families aren’t following educational guidelines and are using all the wrong materials. Listen up, there isn’t an ounce of truth to that. Especially when you sign up for Schoolio. Sure, you’ll always have those few crazy homeschoolers that measure up to the stereotypical side of homeschooling and ruin the homeschooling reputation. Even so, I’d say that 99.9% of homeschool parents are not like that at all. We care about our children’s education, about the social activities, and about their health (both mental and physical).

The point is, you want your children to be getting the education that they need. You want to be able to purchase a program that is all-inclusive, and that isn’t going to cause epic frustrations in your home. You want curriculum that follows Ontario curriculum. You want to make the best choice possible. Your anxiety is telling you that maybe if you choose to homeschool, you are going to end up ruining their education, or damaging them socially. That’s just it though, those are just anxieties. Anxieties that I once felt years ago when I started homeschooling. If you have the best intentions, then you have nothing to worry about.

You are making the best choices for your child and we are here to help with that choice. You will always second guess yourself, but I’m here to reassure you that you do make amazing decisions for your child, that you are smart and capable, that you are stronger than you know.
